Product Information: Each CONTAC timed release capsule or caplet has a portion of its medicines that work right away while the balance are dissolved slowly to provide 12-Hours of relief.
Temporarily relieves nasal congestion due to the common cold, hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies and associated with sinusitis. Temporarily relieves runny nose and reduces sneezing, itching of the nose or throat and itchy, watery eyes due to hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies. Helps clear nasal passages; shrinks swollen membranes. Helps decongest sinus openings and passages; temporarily relieves sinus congestion and pressure.
Directions: Adults and children over 12 years of age: One capsule or caplet every 12 hours, not to exceed 2 capsules or caplets in 24 hours, or as directed by a doctor. Children under 12 years of age: consult a doctor.
Each capsule or caplet is encased in a plastic cell with a foil back; do not use if cell or foil is broken. The carton is protected by a clear overwrap printed with "safety-sealed"; do not use if overwrap is missing or broken.
In addition, each CONTAC capsule is protected by a red Perma-Seal TM band which bonds the two capsule halves together; do not use if capsule or band is broken.
: Do not exceed the recommended dosage. If nervousness, dizziness, or sleeplessness occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor. If symptoms do not improve within 7 days or are accompanied by high fever, consult a doctor. Do not take this product, unless directed by a doctor, if you have a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis, or if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, glaucoma or difficulty in urination due to enlargement of the prostate gland. Do not take this product if you are taking another medication containing phenylpropanolamine. Use caution when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery. May cause drowsiness; alcohol, sedatives and tranquilizers may increase the drowsiness effect. Avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this product. Do not take this product if you are taking sedatives or tranquilizers, without first consulting your doctor. May cause excitability especially in children. KEEP THIS AND ALL DRUGS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. IN CASE OF ACCIDENTAL OVERDOSE, SEEK PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE OR CONTACT A POISON CONTROL CENTER IMMEDIATELY. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using this product. Store in a dry place at controlled room temperature 15°-30°C (59°-86°F).
Drug Interaction Precaution: Do not use this product if you are now taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson' disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you are uncertain whether your prescription drug contains an MAOI, consult a health professional before taking this product.
Capsule Active Ingredients: Phenylpropanolamine Hydrochloride 75 mg. and Chlorpheniramine Maleate 8 mg.
Caplet Active Ingredients: Phenylpropanolamine Hydrochloride 75 mg. and Chlorpheniramine Maleate 12 mg.
